December Path to Healing Provides Information on Coping with Grief During the Holidays

Samaritan Care Hospice of Florida held its Path to Healing grief recovery workshop/support group meeting on Saturday, December 1, at the Jewish Community Center in Southwest Orlando. Guest speaker Courtney Stewart, MA, LMHC, and founder of Healing with Time, a private counseling practice specializing in the treatment of grief and loss, spoke on the topic of Coping with Grief During the Holidays. Her presentation focused on the importance of pacing yourself, communicating with others and maintaining physical health during the grief process. Ms. Stewart, who is an Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) practitioner, also provided an interesting EFT demonstration. EFT involves tapping specific parts of the body while repeating positive affirmations or thoughts in an effort to promote positive emotional health.
